Dhaka, Bangladesh - Avik Anwar, the Bangladeshi car racing sensation, has once again proved his mettle on the international stage by securing the third position in a recent race in India. The race was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh on February 12, 2023.
The race was a part of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship, one of India's premier racing events. Avik, who was driving for the Meco Racing team, competed in the Formula LGB 1300 category, which features single-seater race cars powered by 1.3-litre engines.
Avik started the race from the fourth position on the grid but quickly made his way up the field, overtaking several competitors in the early laps. He then engaged in a fierce battle for the second and third positions with two other drivers for the remainder of the race, but ultimately had to settle for third place.
"I'm very happy with the result," Avik said after the race. "It was a tough race, but I gave it my all and managed to finish on the podium. I want to thank my team, Meco Racing, for their support and guidance throughout the event."
This latest achievement adds to Avik's already impressive racing resume, which includes multiple championships in the Bangladesh Racing Championship and the Dhaka Motor Racing Championship. He also became the first Bangladeshi racer to compete in the FIA Formula 4 South East Asia Championship in 2017.
Avik's success in India is expected to inspire many young motorsports enthusiasts in Bangladesh and bring further attention to the sport in the country. "I hope this will inspire more young racers in Bangladesh to pursue their dreams and follow in my footsteps," Avik said. "I want to do my part in developing the sport in my country and promoting it on the global stage."
